I went on a little trip with the boys and left the garden in my husbands hands. I was a little worried, because I water the garden in the morning and evening. My husband is not a morning person. In fact, I called every morning to make sure he woke up in time to get to work. He did take the "easy" way out by completely flooding the garden. He said that my
book (which is AWESOME) to flood the garden and get the salts flushed out. Well he watered my garden and kept it alive. He even picked tomatoes and gave them to the neighbors (which I did before we left). When we got back and I went to look at my garden, I was amazed to find the following
Grey Zucchinis |
Crooked Neck Squash with tomatoes, peppers, and white pumpkins |
A bowl full of tomatoes with some on the side |
Needless to say I am going to be making salsa! I also have egg plant flowering and my watermelons are looking good. The cantaloupe is doing much better too. I even think there is a cantaloupe coming up wild by our compost. As for the grapes, well, there have been some curved-billed thrashers around, so Birdie Cafe is now open for business again.
